IN THE DEEP MOVIE CAST MOVIE
But even if you are intimately familiar with the original story, there are still some changes that will keep things interesting. In the end to decide if you want to watch this movie, just ask yourself these simple questions:- Do you find Gal Gadot breath-takingly gorgeous?- Do you enjoy a good murder mystery?- Are you a fan of Agatha Christie's detective stories?- Did you see and enjoy Kenneth Branagh's previous Poirot movie "Murder on the Orient Express"? Or any of his other films in general? If you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, it is reason enough to go watch this movie. Ultimately the resolution of the murder is the same so hopefully you have not been spoiled beforehand. But their performances are all strong enough that I did not question the racial recasting at all, proving it can definitely be done right in the proper hands.I think the mystery and final reveal would be much more enjoyable if you were not as familiar with the original film or book as I was.
IN THE DEEP MOVIE CAST SERIAL
The 1978 cast was nearly entirely white, while this new cast is much more diverse. The Deep is a British television drama serial produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for BBC Wales.Written by Simon Donald, The Deep stars Minnie Driver, James Nesbitt, and Goran Visnjic as members of the crew of a research submarine, who encounter disaster thousands of feet underwater in the Arctic Circle. Some characters have been added from the previous Orient Express remake, while others have been changed or outright removed from the original Agatha Christie story. Some of these changes do hurt the movie a bit and so this remake ultimately does not match up to the original 1978 film. Thus the reason for his prominent mustache, to hide the deep facial scars. The man is an award-winning actor and director so there will be no complaints about his performance or his direction. There are only minor things they have changed, like Poirot suddenly has a badly scarred face from a bomb injury suffered during World War I. Imagine my surprise to learn that all those scenes are all just visual effects, because this film was not shot in Egypt at all! (It was shot entirely in England and Morocco.)This is Kenneth Branagh's second turn as famed detective Hercule Poirot and also as director of an Agatha Christie film remake. Despite a fairly attractive cast of characters, the only thing that matches Gal's beauty are actually scenes of the River Nile itself. The original Linnet Ridgeway was an entitled bitch who was basically universally despised, leaving no shortage of suspects after she is murdered for our detective to sort through. Not going to lie, I spent the first half of the movie mostly being just awed by Gal Gadot's beauty and feeling sad knowing she was about to be murdered. It is a pretty decent retelling of Agatha Christie's Egyptian murder mystery. When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I remember thinking to myself, "Wait, Gal Gadot is playing the victim? How could anyone hate Gal Gadot enough to murder her?" And I was right, they changed her character in this version to be more adored and sympathetic. I left the cinema feeling fairly satisfied that those expectations were met. The movie runs for a short time and shows us what we need to know without dragging too much.Death on the Nile (2022) - Murder Most Glamorous (4 out of 5 stars) - Some Panickers and I went to watch "Death of the Nile" in IMAX and I went in with some expectations, as a fan of the original 1978 film of the same name. Being in too deep in the scheme makes him start to forget who he really is, although even that is not strongly developed.
